ProDentim vs ProvaDent (2026): Which Oral Probiotic Fits You?
ProDentim
Probiotic-first: 3 named strains, 3.5 billion bacteria per tablet. One tablet a day.
ProDentim official site
ProvaDent
Xylitol-first: organic xylitol, cranberry, purple carrot and 4 unnamed strains. Two tablets a day.
ProvaDent official siteProDentim vs ProvaDent is a fair question: both are chewable oral probiotics sold online, both cost the same and both come with a 60-day guarantee. But they are built on different ideas. We wrote a full review of each (ProDentim and ProvaDent). This page puts the facts side by side, checked on both official sites and labels in October 2026, so you can decide which one, if either, fits you.
Our short answer
There is no proven winner: neither product has been tested in a published clinical trial. The real difference is transparency versus approach. ProDentim names its three probiotic strains, including Lactobacillus reuteri, the most studied strain for the mouth, and states 3.5 billion bacteria per tablet. ProvaDent is built around organic xylitol, a well-researched tooth-friendly sweetener, but does not name its four strains or give the amount of any ingredient. If knowing exactly what you take matters most, ProDentim is the clearer choice. If you mainly want a xylitol chewable after meals and have no dog at home, ProvaDent is built for that.

What is different inside
ProDentim: built around named probiotic strains
According to the manufacturer, each ProDentim tablet holds 3.5 billion bacteria from three strains, plus inulin (a plant fiber), malic acid, tricalcium phosphate and peppermint. The strain that matters most is Lactobacillus reuteri: several small trials of specific L. reuteri strains have looked at gum inflammation, with some encouraging results. The catch is that results depend on the exact strain and dose, and ProDentim does not give the amount of each strain.
ProvaDent: built around xylitol
ProvaDent leads with organic xylitol, a sweetener that the bacteria behind cavities cannot ferment. A large Cochrane review found the evidence for xylitol preventing cavities is real but low quality, and studies usually used several grams a day. ProvaDent does not say how much xylitol each tablet contains. It adds cranberry extract (early lab research on bacteria sticking to teeth), purple carrot powder (little direct research), a proprietary "BioFresh Clean Complex" whose contents are not disclosed, and four probiotic strains without names.
What they have in common
Both are dietary supplements, not treatments. Neither replaces brushing, flossing or the dentist, and neither finished product has a published clinical trial. For what the research shows goal by goal, read our guide to oral probiotics. For a neutral overview, see the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements probiotics fact sheet.
Price and cost per day
Both are sold only through their official websites, with orders processed by ClickBank. When we checked in October 2026, both offered the same three packages. ProvaDent has twice as many tablets per bottle, but you take two a day, so each bottle of either lasts 30 days and the cost per day is identical:
| Package | Price per bottle (both) | Cost per day | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 bottle (30 days) | $69 | about $2.30 | Shipping shown at checkout |
| 3 bottles (90 days) | $59 ($177 total) | about $1.97 | Two digital bonus guides on both; ProvaDent also lists free US shipping |
| 6 bottles (180 days) | $49 ($294 total) | about $1.63 | Free US shipping and two digital bonus guides on both |
The bonuses are e-books with home oral care tips, not extra product. Offers change often, so confirm the price on the order page. If you are trying an oral probiotic for the first time, a smaller package keeps less money tied up while you decide, and both come with a 60-day money-back guarantee counted from the order date.
Safety: the xylitol question
Probiotics are generally well tolerated by healthy adults; mild digestive changes are the most common effect. Xylitol is safe for people in normal amounts, but large amounts can cause gas or loose stools. The one clear safety difference is pets: xylitol is highly toxic to dogs, even in small amounts (FDA explanation). If you have a dog and cannot keep the bottle out of reach, ProvaDent is the riskier choice.
For either product: people with a weakened immune system, serious illness, pregnancy, or who take prescription medication should talk to a doctor first, and children should not take them without a pediatrician's approval.
What other comparisons get wrong
Most pages ranking for "ProDentim vs ProvaDent" are sales copy hosted on unrelated websites, and they contradict each other. Here is what we found, compared with what the official sites and labels say:
- "ProvaDent is a liquid" or "a capsule you swallow". The label says chewable tablets, 60 per bottle. One section of the official site mentions a "capsule", but the rest of the site and the label describe a chewable.
- Specific ProvaDent strain names. Some pages list strains such as Streptococcus salivarius or Bacillus coagulans. The official site only says "4 strains of probiotics" and names none, so those lists are guesses.
- A 30-day or 90-day ProvaDent guarantee. The official site states 60 days, the same as ProDentim.
- "ProvaDent is cheaper". In October 2026 both had identical package prices and the same cost per day.
- A clear "winner". Without a clinical trial of either product, any page declaring a proven winner is going beyond the evidence.
Which one to choose
ProDentim may fit you if
- You want to know which probiotic strains you are taking
- You prefer one tablet a day
- You have a dog at home
ProvaDent may fit you if
- You like the idea of a xylitol chewable after meals
- You do not mind that strains and amounts are not listed
- You have no pets, or can keep the bottle out of reach
Skip both if you have pain, bleeding gums or a loose tooth: see a dentist first. And whichever you pick, the basics matter far more: brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth daily, cut down on sugary snacks and keep your checkups. Frequently asked questions
Is ProDentim or ProvaDent better?
Neither has a published clinical trial, so there is no proven winner. ProDentim is more transparent about its probiotics; ProvaDent is built around xylitol and does not name its strains or give amounts.
Which one is cheaper?
Neither, when we checked in October 2026: $69, $59 or $49 per bottle depending on the package, and each bottle lasts 30 days.
Is ProvaDent a liquid or a capsule?
Neither. The label describes a chewable tablet, two a day. ProDentim is also a chewable tablet, one a day.
Can I take ProDentim and ProvaDent together?
We found no guidance from either brand on combining them and no research on the combination. It also doubles the cost. It is simpler to pick one, use it within the 60-day guarantee and judge for yourself.
Where should I buy them?
Only from each official website. The guarantees do not cover third-party sellers, and neither brand allows sales on Amazon or eBay.
Bottom line
Same price, same guarantee, different idea. ProDentim is the more transparent probiotic; ProvaDent is the xylitol chewable. Neither is proven better, and neither replaces dental care.
